Ini Akibat Sesungguhnya dari Fenomena Equinox

JAKARTA, AKSIKATA.COM – Dunia media sosial dibuat resah dan gelisah. Telah viral  sebuah pesan yang beredar secara berantai melalui whatsapp mengenai fenomena Equinox.

Dalam pesan tersebut berisi himbauan untuk mengurangi aktifitas di luar rumah dari tanggal 22 hingga 28 Maret 2019 karena panas yang melebihi ambang batas.

Berikut isi pesan tersebut :

“Bapak/Ibu jangan lupa untuk minum lebih banyak air, makan lebih banyak buah dan mengurangi aktifitas diluar rumah dari tanggal 22 s/d 28 Maret…karena Equinox..karena Matahari..mencapai titik terdekat dengan bumi..dan suhu udara akan naik beberapa derajat..jangan sampai dehidrasi atau sun stroke. Stay Healthy.”

Menanggapi viralnya hal itu, Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) angkat bicara. BMKG menyatakan equinox merupakan fenomena biasa.

Menurut Deputi Bidang Meteorologi BMKG Mulyono Rahadi Prabowo, equinox adalah salah satu fenomena astronomi dimana matahari melintasi garis khatulistiwa dan secara periodik berlangsung dua kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada tanggal 21 Maret dan 23 September.

Saat fenomena ini berlangsung, matahari dengan bumi memiliki jarak paling dekat konsekuensinya wilayah tropis sekitar ekuator akan mendapatkan penyinaran matahari maksimum.

Namun, fenomena ini tidak selalu mengakibatkan peningkatan suhu udara secara drastis maupun ekstrim.

“Fenomena ini tidak selalu mengakibatkan peningkatan suhu udara secara drastis maupun ekstrim. Secara umum, diketahui rata-rata suhu maksimum di wilayah Indonesia berada dalam kisaran 32-36°C,” jelas Prabowo, dalam keterangan tertulis yang diterima Redaksi AKSIKATA, Senin (25/3/2019).

Secara periodik, fenomena equinox berlangsung dua kali dalam setahun, yaitu sehari pada musim semi dan sehari di musim gugur. Berdasakan pengamatan BMKG, suhu maksimum tertinggi pada hari kemarin 23 Maret 2019 tercatat 37,6°C di Meulaboh, Aceh.

Dijelaskan Prabowo, equinox bukan merupakan fenomena seperti gelombang panas atau heat wave yang terjadi di Eropa, Afrika dan Amerika yang merupakan kejadian peningkatan suhu udara ekstrim di luar kebiasaan dan berlangsung dalam waktu yang cukup lama.

Menyikapi hal ini, Prabowo mengimbau masyarakat untuk tidak perlu mengkhawatirkan dampak dari equinox sebagaimana disebutkan dalam isu yang berkembang.

Secara umum kondisi cuaca di wilayah Indonesia cenderung masih lembab/basah. Beberapa wilayah Indonesia saat ini sedang memasuki masa/periode transisi/pancaroba.

Masyarakat diminta tetap mengantisipasi kondisi cuaca yang cukup panas dengan meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh dan tetap menjaga kesehatan keluarga serta lingkungan.
