JAKARTA, AKSIKATA.COM – Mahkamah Agung (MA) resmi menolak permohonan kasasi yang diajukan Aulia Kesuma. Dengan begitu vonis yang dijatuhkan tetap hukuman mati. Selain Aulia, tersangka lain Geovanni dihukum dengan hukuman mati dan lima orang lainnya dengan hukuman beragam.
“Tolak,” demikian bunyi putusan singkat MA yang dilansir di website-nya, Kamis (18/2).
Kasus pembunuhan ini yang sempat membuat geger ini berawal, saat Aulia yang terlilit utang meminta suaminya, Pupung, menjual rumahnya di kawasan Lebak Bulus, Jakarta Selatan. Namun Pupung menolak permintaan Aulia.
Merasa jengkel, Aulia kemudian menyusun rencana untuk membunuh Pupung beserta anak tirinya, Dana. Tujuannya agar seluruh harta Pupung beralih ke Aulia.
Rencana pembunuhan tersebut disusun bersama tersangka lain yakni Geovanni, Kusumawanto alias Agus, Muhammad Nursahid alias Sugeng, Karsini alias Tini, Rody Saputra, dan Supriyanto.
Aulia dan Geovanni yang terbukti melakukan pembunuhan berencana dijatuhi vonis hukuman mati oleh PN Jakses pada 15 Juni 2020 lalu. Vonis mati tersebut dikuatkan Pengadilan Tinggi (PT) Jakarta pada 18 Agustus 2020.
Aulia dan Geovanni yang tidak terima dengan vonis hukuman mati itu kemudian mengajukan kasasi. Namun, MA memutuskan menolaknya.
Selain Aulia dan Geovanni, tersangka lain yakni Kusmawanti dan Muhammad Nursahid, yang dihukum penjara seumur hidup, juga mengajukan kasasi. Tapi MA menolaknya. Demikian juga Karsini alias Tini, Rody Saputra, dan Supriyanto. Permohonan kasasi ketiganya ditolak MA.
