BENGKULU, AKSIKATA.COM – Kerukunan Keluarga Tabut (KKT) Bengkulu menggelar rangkaian ritual yang diakhiri pembuangan tabut di Karabela, pada Kamis (19/8/2021) lalu.
Berbeda seperti tahun-tahun sebelum, rangkaian ritual kali ini lebih sederhana tanpa adanya festival lantaran pandemi Covid-19. Meski sederhana dilaksanakan, namun tidak menghilangkan makna dari penyelenggaraan tabut itu sendiri.
Ketua Harian KKT Junaidi Zul menjelaskan, di masa pandemi Covid-19 semua kegiatan yang berpotensi mengumpulkan masa seperti rangkaian festival dan bazar ditiadakan.
Sementara untuk ritual Tabut, akan diawali dengan mendoa yang dilakukan beberapa orang, kemudian tanggal 4 atau 5 Muharam dilakukan ritual cuci penja di rumah masing-masing dan kemudian akan ditutup dengan ziarah ke makam karbala pada tanggal 10 Muharam dengan jumlah orang terbatas.
“Kita tetap melakukan ritual prosesi di rumah masing-masing yang sifatnya tidak mengumpulkan masa,” jelasnya.
Ritual tabut merupakan tradisi masyarakat Bengkulu yang digelar tiap tanggal 1 hingga 10 Muharam. Ritual ini merupakan bagian dari peringatan hari wafatnya cucu Nabi Muhammad SAW, yaitu Hussein bin Ali saat pecah perang Karbala yang jatuh pada tanggal 10 Muharram.
Diperkirakan, ritual ini telah berumur hampir seratus tahun, dan telah ada sejak abad ke-19 Masehi. Setiap ritual dalam upacara Tabut selalu diawali pembacaan doa-doa Islam, seperti doa mohon selamat, ampun dan baca-bacaan doa lainnya.
Tabut berasal dari bahasa Arab yang bermakna peti kayu. Nama tersebut mengacu pada legenda tentang kemunculan makhluk berwujud kuda bersayap dan berkepala manusia yang disebut buraq.
Legenda tersebut mengisahkan bahwa setelah wafatnya cucu Nabi, kotak kayu berisi potongan jenazah Hussein diterbangkan ke langit oleh buraq.
Berdasarkan legenda inilah, setiap tahun masyarakat Pariaman membuat tiruan buraq yang sedang mengusung tabut di punggungnya.
Diyakini bahwa ritual Tabut pertama kali dipentaskan di Bengkulu pada 1685 oleh Syeh Burhanuddin, juga dikenal sebagai Imam Senggolo. Dia adalah orang pertama yang menyebarkan Islam di Bengkulu di mana dia menikahi seorang gadis lokal. Keturunannya kemudian dikenal sebagai keluarga Tabut/Tabot.
Ritual itu diturunkan dari generasi ke generasi oleh, apa yang kemudian dikenal sebagai, Komunitas Keluarga Tabut. Ritual Tabut pun menjadi cermin kekayaan budaya Bengkulu. Juga memperkaya potensi wisata religi Bengkulu. Festival ini juga ikut menggerakkan ekonomi masyarakat.
Adapun ritual Tabut meliputi, yakni
– Mengambik tanah (ambil tanah);
– Duduk penja (simbol penghormatan kepada Amir-Husein mengajak umat agar selalu mensucikan diri yang diawali dari kedua tangan dicuci, karena tanganlah yang dapat membuat menjadi kotor dan tanganlah yang dapat membuat menjadi bersih baik lahir maupun batin); Menjara (perjalanan panjang malam hari dari tanggal 5 malam ke-6 dan tanggal 6 malam ke-7 Muharram).
– Meradai (pemberitahuan/ penyiaran atau sosialisasi bahwa Amir-Husein mati syahid dan diiringi bunyi musik dhol dan tassa);
– Arak penja (menjunjung kemuliaan kesucian Amir-Husein);
– Arak seroban/sorban (aksesoris yang dipakai sebagai ikat penutup kepala, mahkota kehormatan kebesaran Amir-Husein, kemudian seroban yang dihiasi rangkaian bunga-bunga plastik, daun selasih ditampilkan bersama penja di atas Tabut coki);
– Gam (hari bersedih, berbela sungkawa paling dalam setelah Amir-Husein mati
syahid);
– Tabut naik puncak (prosesi menyambungkan bagian atas dan bawah Tabut dengan cara menaikkan bagian puncak Tabut);
– Arak gedang (seluruh tubuh dan anggota badan yang sebelumnya terpisah-pisah sudah terkumpul lengkap dan dimakamkan esok hari, sebagai sebutan malam puncak prosesi tradisi budaya Tabut);
– Tabut tebuang (diserahkan/ pemakaman, ziarah, ekspresi belasungkawa, kekecewaan mendalam, dan buang kebiadaban, keburukan, kesombongan).
