JAKARTA, AKSIKATA.COM – Ketua Dewan Pertimbangan Pengurus Besar (PB) Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (IDI), Prof Zubairi Djoerban, menjelaskan tentang penularan varian Covid-19 B16172 asal India atau Delta. Dia menyebut, berdasarkan temuan ahli epidemiologi, varian Delta bisa menular dalam hitungan detik.
“Transmisi kontak sekilas ini telah didukung oleh pernyataan-pernyataan beberapa tokoh. Termasuk Menteri Kesehatan New South Wales Brad Hazzard dan juga ahli epidemiologi dunia Eric Feigl-Ding,” katanya melalui akun Twitter @ProfesorZubairi, Sabtu (26/6).
Prof Zubairi mengatakan, jika dilihat secara global, varian Delta memang menyebabkan lonjakan kasus Covid-19 yang tinggi. Namun, sebagian besar vaksin yang digunakan saat ini masih efektif melawan varian Delta.
“Kabar baiknya, sebagian besar vaksin yang beredar, masih bisa bekerja melawan varian Delta ini,” ucap dia.
Sebelumnya, Prof Zubairi mengatakan ada beberapa vaksin yang masih efektif melindungi manusia dari varian Covid-19 Delta. Studi di Inggris menunjukkan, vaksin Pfizer-BioNTech bisa memberikan perlindungan hingga 96 persen. Kemudian vaksin AstraZeneca memberikan perlindungan sampai 92 persen.
Kementerian Kesehatan telah merilis hasil pemeriksaan dan analisis terhadap sekuens genom virus SARS-CoV-2 di Indonesia. Hasil analisis menunjukkan, ada 211 kasus varian baru Covid-19 di Indonesia. 160 Kasus di antaranya merupakan varian Delta.
160 Kasus varian Delta ini tersebar di sembilan provinsi. Yakni, Kalimantan Timur 3 kasus, Gorontalo 1 kasus, Kalimantan Tengah 3 kasus, Sumatera Selatan 3 kasus, Jawa Tengah 80 kasus, DKI Jakarta 57 kasus, Banten 2 kasus, Jawa Barat 1 kasus dan Jawa Timur 10 kasus.
