JK pun langsung melobi Ketua Umum Partai Gerindra Prabowo Subianto dan Presiden PKS saat itu, Sohibul Iman jelang penutupan pendaftaran pasangan bakal calon.

“Saya kenal baik dengan Anies, benar. Saya yang mendukung dia jadi calon gubernur, itu benar. Malam-malam, 12 jam sebelum penutupan saya telepon Pak Prabowo dan Ketua PKS, semua setuju,” kata JK dalam program Special Interview with Claudius Boekan yang diunggah di kanal YouTube BeritaSatu, pada Jumat (4/12).

Menurut JK, ia sampai menelepon langsung walau ia berada di New York (AS). Ia khawatir Pilkada2017 akan membahayakan situasi politik jika Ahok yang menang. “Kalau Ahok yang menang, ribut,  bisa-bisa kena akibatnya ke Pak Jokowi,” cetusnya.

Di tahun 2017, situasi Ahok juga genting karena tengah terseret kasus dugaan penodaan agama akibat pidatonya yang menyinggung umat Islam, khususnya ia mengutip surat Al-Maidah ayat 51 tentang pemimpin non-muslim.

Dampaknya pun hebat, terjadi aksi demonstrasi besar ‘Aksi Bela Islam’ dilakukan GNPF-Ulama dan FPI.

Ahok saat itu sudah Gubernur DKI Jakarta menggantikan posisi Jokowi yang menjadi Presiden. Keduanya jadi pasangan calon yang memenangkan Pilkada DKI 2012.

Namun dikatakan JK, walau ia punya pandangan politik berbeda dengan Jokowi, jangan sampai dipermasalahkan lagi.

“Karena dengan terpilihnya Anies toh tak mengganggu kinerjanya bersama Jokowi di pemerintahan. Di samping itu juga tentu semua orang punya pandangan politik yang berbeda. Kalau hari itu, saya berbeda dengan Jokowi, ya saya harus sependapat dalam melaksanakan tugas, tapi dalam pilihan politik kita bisa berbeda,” katanya.

JK juga menampik jika ada anggapan bahwa mendukung pencalonan Anies merupakan bentuk pembangkangan ke Jokowi. Ia berkata dirinya dan Jokowi tidak membicarakan sosok calon gubernur.

“Kita tidak pernah bicara siapa calon gubernur, bahwa saya mendorong iya benar, mencalonkannya. Tapi setelah dia mencalonkan sah ya jalan sendiri-sendiri,” kata JK, yang Ketua Dewan Masjid Indonesia (DMI) itu.

Namun begitu, JK mengaku meminta Anies untuk tidak bicara masalah pencalonan di Pilpres 2024 saat ini. Ia meminta Anies untuk menyelesaikan tugas sebagai Gubernur DKI Jakarta sebaik-baiknya lebih dahulu.

“Saya sering ditanya, eh 2024 masih empat tahun. Pak Jokowi dari gubernur ke presiden prosesnya satu tahun lebih. Jangan bicara itu dulu (Pilpres 2024), sekarang bangun Jakarta dengan sebaik-baiknya. Jangan banjir, jangan macet, dan dibuat bersih. Itu saja, saya bilang sama Anies begitu,” kata JK.

Ia juga meminta Anies tak banyak berpikir soal Pilpres 2024 sebab di tahun itu akan datang sendiri kalau berhasil. Siapa saja, apakah Anies, Ganjar Pranowo, Ridwan Kamil, Khofifah.

“2024 itu akan tergantung apa yang dibuatnya dari tahun ini, tak usah atur-atur dari sekarang, berbuat yang maksimum saja sekarang,” ujarnya.
